Scan with your phone camera to download directly.
Android Installation & Sideloading Guide
Follow these steps to install and configure the debug APK on your phone.
Download the APK
Tap the download button above or scan the QR code with your phone camera. If Google Chrome shows a prompt stating "File might be harmful — Do you want to download BikeComputer-debug.apk anyway?", tap Download anyway.
Allow Installation from Unknown Sources
Once downloaded, tap the notification or open the file from your Downloads folder. If Android displays "For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source", tap Settings and toggle on "Allow from this source".
Google Play Protect Prompt
Tap Install. Because this is a developer debug build signed with Android's development debug key (not the production Google Play key), Play Protect may display a dialog stating "Unrecognized app" or "Blocked by Play Protect".
Signature Conflict Note
If you currently have a production release or Play Store version of BikeComputer installed, Android will prevent upgrading because debug and release builds use different cryptographic signing keys. Uninstall the existing version first before installing the debug build.
Grant Essential Permissions
On first launch, the app requires a few key permissions to operate as a full bike computer:
-
๐
Location: Select "Allow all the time" so GPS ride tracking and telemetry continue when your phone screen turns off or when you switch apps.
-
๐ก
Nearby Devices / Bluetooth: Required to scan and connect to heart rate straps, speed/cadence sensors, power meters, and smart trainers.
-
๐
Notifications: Required to display ongoing ride status and controls in the status bar while the foreground tracking service is active.
